Bobby Gene (Bob) Skelton, a beloved father, great-grandfather, and veteran, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024 at the age of 83. Bob was born May 17, 1941 in Craigsville, West Virginia the son of Clarence Lee Skelton and Audra Bell Hudkins.
Bob dedicated his life to his family and his country. In the 1960s, Bob proudly served in the United States Army, stationed with the US Forces, in Germany. His service during this time was marked by dedication, bravery, and a deep sense of duty. He often spoke fondly of his time in the military, sharing stories of camaraderie and the friendships he forged.
After his military service, Bob returned home and built a life filled with love and hard work. He was the Director of both Building & Grounds and Transportation for Northeastern Local Schools and owned Skelton’s Carriage Service and the Dairy Queen on East Main Street. He was a Clark County 4-H Horse adviser and a member of the Ohio Horseman’s Council.

Great Grandchildren, Emily (Bryan) Robinson Ashville, Ohio, Thomas Stevens South Charleston, Ohio, Cody, Zack & Molly Stevens South Vienna, Ohio, Weston Adams South Vienna, Ohio, Keira Napier Jenks, Oklahoma, Triss & Tess Napier Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Aiden Stevens Culpeper, Virginia, Cash & Cole Stevens Culpeper, Virginia, Ryleigh & Kameron Stevens Springfield, Ohio, Carter Stevens Springfield, Ohio, Kayla, Brylee, & Jace Robinson Ashville, Ohio, along with numerous loving neighbors & friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Eby Skelton and Son, Douglas P Stevens.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 5th at the old oak tree on the farm starting at 12:00 p.m. with service at 1:00 p.m. Location is Baywood Street off of Old Columbus Road.
