Sheridan, Beverly Sue, our beloved sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family October 8th, 2013 in Southington, CT, at age 70 after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. Born on February 10, 1943, in Springfield, Ohio to Virginia Belle and Robert Leo Maddux, Sue graduated with the first graduating class of Springfield North High School in 1961. She went on to work as a telephone operator at Ohio Bell, married her husband Richard of 24 years and then raised her girls before going back to work at Macy's where she retired after 19 years of service. After retirement she moved to Connecticut to spend more time with her family. Sue was cherished for her sweet, compassionate and loving nature that was matched by the strength and courage she showed us while overcoming cancer. Sue will be especially remembered for her "gift of gab". She loved spending time chatting it up with family and friends and doting on her "baby" Sophie. When not spending time with her grandchildren, Mama Sue was a dedicated coffee drinker and word search player. For fun she also enjoyed reading her favorite gossip magazines and watching wedding and food network shows and shopping with her best friend Sue. Sue was preceded in death by her husband Richard William Sheridan, brother John R. Maddux and baby daughter Beth Ann. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Doug Fancher of Venice FL, daughters and sons-in-law Staci and David Hartmann of Seattle, WA, Denise and Doug Culp of Southington, CT and Ami and Brian Zinser of Chatham, NJ, grandchildren Brittani, Savannah, Madalyn, Christian, Gabriella and Kaylie and her dog Sophie. She is also survived by two nieces and many extended family and friends. A viewing will be held from 10-12 p.m. Tuesday, October 15th at the Conroy Funeral Home, 1660 East High St., Springfield, Ohio, followed by a memorial and graveside service at St. Bernard Cemetery.
