Betty Pennington

PENNINGTON, Betty, 81, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Heartland of Springfield. She was born April 29, 1933 in Paintsville, KY the daughter of Crate and Bessie (Blair) Spradlin. She retired from Robbins and Myers after 18 years of service and was a member of Christ Chapel Church of God. Survivors include her husband, Elmer Pennington; three sons and spouse, Richard Gorton, Tony & Brenda Pennington and Steve & Melodye Pennington; two daughters and spouse, Karen & Jack McKee, Angela & Dale Greist; grandchildren, Kimberly & Jim Jenkins, Jennifer Schliep, Jack & Heather McKee, Brooke & Ryan Harris, Deja & Anthony Fagan, Tavia Pennington, Jordan Pennington, Amanda Greist, Hannah Greist and Nathan Greist; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one brother, Leon Spradlin and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Reba Smallwood and Gigi Smallwood, daughter-in-law, Linda Gorton, grandson, Richard Gorton and a great grandson, Cody Schliep. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Bernard Cook officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Christ Chapel Church of God.
