Betty J. Walp

Walp, Betty J., 87, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Heartland of Springfield. Betty was born August 9, 1928 in Adrian, MI to Frank and Ada (Church) Ehlinger. She retired after many years as a legal secretary for several different law offices. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where she was active in multiple women's groups. She was also a member of the Ohio Legal Secretaries and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by three children, Lewis Walp, Lyn (David) Johnson and Lawrence (Donna) Walp; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Schultz; two sisters-in-law, Jane Grubb and Marjorie Laveck; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 2012; six siblings, Frank, Don, Bob, Helen, Roberta and Ruth Mae; and one granddaughter, Kristine. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kyle Kirchner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
