GEORGE, Betty M., 88, of Springfield passed away Monday, January 28, 2013, in Dayspring Nursing Home, Fairborn. Betty was the last survivor of the six children of George and Mary Robinson. She is survived by her two children, Vikki Dersch of Phoenix AZ, and Benny George of Fairborn OH. She also leaves four grandchildren, Renada Aung Khin of Phoenix AZ, Tearle Dersch of South Jordan UT, Jenny George of Nashville TN, Cory George of Columbus OH, and one great-grandchild, Torrey Dersch-Kelter of Phoenix AZ. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Herman George, in 1993. She enjoyed being with family and friends, bowling, playing cards, fishing, and traveling. Betty and Herman were entrepreneurs, owning and operating two businesses, George's Drug Store and George's Lawnmower Repair, both in Springfield. They enjoyed going to Lake Erie to be on the lake in their fishing boat, or with friends and family in their trailer on Catawba Island. Betty also held several different jobs at various times including working in a factory during WWII. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, Betty will be missed and remembered with love. Betty will be cremated at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. At her request there will be no visitation. There will be a short memorial service at the Ferncliff Chapel on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11am.
