Ebenger, Betty J., 90, of Springfield, died April 1, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born February 11, 1923 in Springfield, OH to John and Edith (Geiger) Horstman. She married Edward Ebenger in 1947. Betty was employed as a registered nurse for both Community and Mercy Hospitals and later retired from Surgical Associates in 1980. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, a 1941 graduate of Catholic Central High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Hamilton, OH. She was also a member of St. Bernard Luncheon Club, Altar Rosary Sodality, and a volunteer at Mercy Hospital Pastoral Office and St. John Center. Survivors include three children, David Ebenger, Winthrop, WA, Karen (Bob) Dudgeon, Dublin, OH and Edward J. (Connie) Ebenger, Greenwood, IN; four grandchildren, Ryan and John Ebenger, Christopher Dudgeon and Elizabeth (Kevin) Burnett; two great grandchildren, Jackson Lucas and Elin Rose Burnett; five sisters, Mary Catherine Pauly, Irene (Ben) Myers, Margaret Chambers, Angela (John O.) Martin and Ann (Joe) Falkenbach; a brother, John Horstman, and two sisters in law, Marjorie Horstman and Elaine Koehler; and numerous nieces and nephews;. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. in 1999 and three brothers, Francis, Robert and Roger Horstman. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Central Foundation
