Thompson, Betty A., 92, of Springfield, died July 22, 2014 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1922 in New Moorefield, OH to Roy B. and Ethel M. (Strausbaugh) Ramby. Betty was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, a volunteer for the Rainbow Table, was an avid seamstress and provided many knitted hats for the patients of Springfield Regional Cancer Center. Survivors include six children and spouses, Connie (Cliff) Allen, Monica (Joe) Wolbert, Douglas (Joan) Thompson, Stephen (Gail) Thompson, Gregory (Martha) Thompson, and Christopher (Linda) Thompson; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a sister in law, Ruth Ramby; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2011, sisters, Marie Downing, Norene Martineau and Barbara; and a brother, Jeff Ramby. The family would like to express their appreciation to the many neighbors, friends and the staff of Forest Glen and Southbrook Care Center. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank or the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
