Barbara A. MacGregor Manning

Manning, Barbara A. MacGregor, 85, of New Carlisle, died Sunday morning March 6, 2016 in Grandview Medical Center, Dayton, OH after a three year fight with cancer. She was the daughter of William and Helen (Healy) MacGregor, born June 21, 1930 in Springfield, OH. She graduated with the class of 1948 from Springfield High School and worked for 25+ years for Tecumseh Local School District. Barbara was, at one time, a Grey Lady at Mercy Hospital and worked five years for the adult Literacy Group teaching adults to read. She was active in her churches, St. Mark's Lutheran Church and Arise in Christ Lutheran Church, having done the church typing for many years and taught Sunday School for twenty years. She was active in the Ladies Group at the churches. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 61 years, Joe R. Manning. She is survived by her children, Ann (Dale) Whitmer of Marysville, Kimberly (William) Jones of New Carlisle, and David (Lora) Manning of Galloway, OH; six grandchildren, Rachel (Didier) Jones Donne of Mountain View, CA, Jillian (Danny Peterson) Manning, Columbus, OH, Ryan Jones, Columbus, OH, Emily Jones, Cincinnati, OH, Hayley Manning and Tabitha Manning, Galloway, OH; her brother, William (Joanne) MacGregor, Springfield, OH; sister-in-law's, Dorothy Manning and Shirley Lookabaugh, Springfield, OH, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Peter Kruse officiating. Entombment will be held in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Barbara's name.
