Barbara A. DeWitt

DeWitt, Barbara Ann (Kelly), 82, of Springfield, passed away at 4:48 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Forest Glen Nursing Home. Born in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Oliver J. and Marguerite E. (Scully) Kelly and resided here all of her life. She attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Catholic Central High School. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. She was employed at Holiday Inn West, and Society (Springfield) Bank until retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Hughey and sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Bill Dargin. Was also an avid reader and rejoiced in entertaining her family with delightful meals at holidays and life events. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hughey W. DeWitt, sister, Helen Dargin, brother-in-law, Bill Dargin, son David M. DeWitt, and granddaughter, Erin (Hanson) Perks. Survived by brother, Charles (Sharon) Kelly, daughter, Stephanie Luther, sons Joseph (Jan) DeWitt, and Charles (Debbie) DeWitt; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and lifelong dear friend Mary Ann McGuff. A special thanks to the dedicated and caring staffs at Forest Glen and Community Mercy Hospice. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Teresa Church. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. "May the road rise up to meet her."
