Barbara A. Bennett

Bennett, Barbara A., 75, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died April 6, 2014 in Sycamore Life Care Hospital. She was born January 3, 1939 in Logansport, IN to Norman Block and Katherine A. (Fadely) Block Montague. Barb was a 1957 graduate of Springfield High School, a collector and dealer of antique dolls, and was an avid tennis and golfer, having been a member of the Snyder Park Ladies Golf Association. Survivors in addition to her mother, Katherine, include her husband of 54 years, Billy J. Bennett; three children, Carey Whitacre and fiancé Mike McKee, Springfield, Griff and Michelle Bennett, Spring Valley, OH, and Norman and Julie Bennett, Mainville, OH; five grandchildren, Doug Wagner, Kristen, Benjamin, Michael and Zachary Bennett; a sister, Diane Seaman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, a stepfather, Gerald "Monty" Montague, and a sister, Peggy Walthall. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Newell officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
