Anne Tapogna

Anne Tapogna passed away peacefully at the age of 63 in Springfield, Ohio on February 13, 2025. She was surrounded by several of her siblings and niece. Anne was the daughter of the late Alice and Dr. Richard Tapogna.

Growing up in a big family in Springfield, Ohio, Anne was the seventh of nine Tapogna children. She attended Springfield Catholic Central High School where she was a straight A student and especially enjoyed Spanish class. Anne was quick-witted and loved to make those around her laugh. 

She was an excellent cook, and truly enjoyed cooking for others. One of her most memorable specialties was her homemade cheesecake.

Anne loved the Florida sun and lifestyle and spent many years in St. Petersburg, Fla. where she worked in the restaurant industry. She returned to Springfield, Ohio in 2001. She was an avid music lover and especially loved Elton John and Billy Idol. Her favorite comedy character was Pee Wee Herman.

After seeing and enjoying countless Cincinnati Reds baseball games from childhood into adulthood, Anne had a lifelong love for baseball and the Cincinnati Reds. Her favorite players were Cesar Geronimo and Joey Votto.

Anne had a generous spirit and never hesitated to volunteer her time and resources to help others. She was an animal lover and especially had a fondness for cats.

Anne is survived by her brothers Stephen (Susan) Tapogna, David (Diane) Tapogna, Michael Tapogna, Thomas (Dianna) Tapogna, and John (Nicky) Tapogna and sisters, Christa Bostick, Catherine Tapogna (Kevin Greer), and Mary Tapogna, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Alison Tapogna.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 22 in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held one-hour prior beginning at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
