Anita M. Smith

SMITH, Anita M., 85, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on January 19, 1930 the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Gnau) Pavelka. She retired from Sears after working as a division manager for over 20 years. Anita was a 1948 graduate of Catholic Central High School and was a charter member and still active member of the Delta Delta Tau sorority for over 70 years. She volunteered at St. Michael Church in Mechanicsburg and St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years and served on the bereavement committee. Survivors include four children, Thomas (Jill) Smith, Urbana, OH, Terri Ann (Billy) Reinbolt, Sarasota, FL, Toni (Ron) Hoyt, Des Moines, IA and Tim (Valerie) Smith, Mechanicsburg, OH; 13 grandchildren, Sean and Eric Hoyt, Allison Schmitt and David Belt, Emily, Amelia and Frances Smith, Olivia, Melanie and Nicolai Smith, Brian Tregoning and Chris and Doug Lautzenheiser; eight great grandchildren, especially Abigail, Joey, Alex and Elizabeth; two brothers, Donald (Kay) Pavelka and Gerald (Kathi) Pavelka; two sisters, Dorothy Mitterholzer and Carol Beal and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2013. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
