Alton O. Grimes

Grimes, Alton O., 83, of Lake Wales, FL, died there May 19, 2013. He was born November 8, 1929 in Nowata, OK to George and Ethel Grimes. He graduated from Springfield South High School, was a U.S. Navy Veteran, attended Wittenberg University and was a 1962 graduate of the University of Dayton. Alton retired in 1989 as an electrical engineer with Bendix of Ft. Lauderdale. Survivors include his wife, Carol J. (Danley); a son, Benjamin R. Grimes and wife Loren, Williamsburg, VA; brother in law, Donald J. Danley and wife Gwen, Springfield, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Yolanda Grimes in 1965, grandson Arie deZanger in 2010, and nine brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Rose Hill Burial Park in Springfield, OH. with Pastor Jeff Mullinix officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shephard Hospice of Florida or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
