Alfred J. Jacobs

Jacobs, Alfred J., 88, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015. He was born in Covington, Ohio on March 3, 1927 the son of Alfred G. and Naomi (Minnich) Jacobs. He retired from Ohio Edison in 1990 after 42 ½ years of service. He was the co-founder of the Ohio Edison Credit Union and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II. Survivors include his two children, John A. Jacobs of Springfield and Phyllis Kerby of Phoenix, Arizona; two step-children, Michael Miller and Lisa Gary both of Florida and four grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Chris Livingston officiating. Visitation will be 1 ½ hours prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice.
