I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. I only knew Mr. Yontz as one of my customers at Burger King, but he was one of my absolutely favorites. Always had a smile on his face, always a kind word, I looked forward to seeing him on the weekends when I worked for his usual breakfast. We had many nice conversations and laughs. He was such truly warm person. My prayers go up for comfort and peace for your family. Mr. Yontz will definately be missed.

Was shocked to hear of Geno's passing. Our friendship goes back decades and it was always fun catching up when we would run into each other around town. I'm so happy though Geno retired as a young guy because he got to pursue & enjoy so many of his hobbies. Every time I saw him he was doing something interesting. RIP my friend...

Gene and I were classmates at St Ray's from 1st to 8th grade. True story. On the first day of school (Sister Anita's first grade class) he wore a pair of spanking new white buck shoes. He sat behind me at the end of the row. Unfortunately, he was sick that day and puked all over his shoes and down the back of my pant leg. We were able to laugh about as we headed to the lavatory to clean up. Always the gentleman, he apologized for spewing on my pants. Hard to believe that was 60 years ago. I lost track of Gene after 8th grade but remember him as a very good athlete and even better classmate. (The white bucks were probably ruined. I don't remember him ever wearing them again.) Prayers to Gene's family from the Bryson family.

Everyone who knew Geno will miss him. I met him in grade school when he played for St Ray’s and I played for St. Joe’s. We were teammates on some baseball teams, and he was a great athlete. After high school I was away for decades, and then moved here again and ran into Geno. And he was just the same! Same friendliness, same humor, same concern—he even looked the same! A good man was in our lives and has now gone to a better place. We pray for him and for his grieving family.

I am so sorry to hear this news about Geno. Geno and I played on several great basketball teams going back to the St. Raphael Grade School days. I was in Springfield a couple months ago and ran into Geno at Mike & Rosie's Deli and we talked for quite a while. I had not seen Geno in years. He introduced me to his daughter and I told her what a great guy and athlete her Dad was. He wanted me to see his license plate --CCHS 1972, he was very proud of that. My thoughts and prayers are with Geno and his family and friends.
