Jerry Schaefer, What a character ! If you attended South in the late 60's - mid 70's you knew Jerry Schaefer. We all have "Schaef" stories, many too colorful for print, but all part of who "Schaef" was. "Schaef" also had a heart of gold, coaching pee wee football in Northridge for several years, taking kids to baseball camps and games, this is who "Schaef" was. I've spoken with several since "Schaef's" passing and we all shared our stories, we laughed, smiled and even shook our heads remembering all of the stories, we all agreed, if you were "Schaef's" friend, you were his friend for life. My condolences go out to his family. Rest in peace, my friend. Mark Stoll

So sorry to hear of Schaef's passing. He was a regular at the Potter household before we all left the nest. He was definitely entertaining. He helped me get my first dog once I had my own home. It was a beautiful German shepherd who already had a name, Abe. Thankful Schaef had a great bunch of siblings.

Roberts kids, I was truly shocked and saddened to hear this news. Schaef was a big part of our lives for many years and I appreciate the time and friendships shared. Ted and Marty were always special and memories are still fresh and clear of both Kenton Street and Sunset Ave. in the 70’s and 80’s. Thank you all for that. I will be out of the country thru next week and will not be able to attend the services. I’m sure Conroys will do a great job for you, they always do. My buddy Rob Webster at the funeral home can reach me anytime and if there is anything I can do please let me know. God bless your family and rest comfortably to my old buddy Shafa!

So sorry to hear the news of Jerry’s passing. So many good memories we shared.
