I had Louis at JVS auto mechanics in 1970-72. He was a special teacher. Every time I would see him at Mod-Tiques car shows & Springfield swap meet I loved talking to him. He will be sadly missed.

I was privileged to have Louis first as my favorite teacher, and also as a lifelong friend. I graduated in 1976 from his class at JVS. That year by far was my favorite year of school. He knew how to challenge his students as well as teach. Many, many fond memories of the time I spent with him in class, as well as our friendship all these many years. I am saddened by the loss, but blessed to have known him and his family. My life is richer for it. May God bless and comfort his family.

Mr Cavallaro was one of my favorite teachers. He and his brother Phil helped lead me down that road for the rest of my life. I am very sad to see his passing. I am only one of many that looked up to him and Phil. JVS Class of '87.

Louis was a fine man and a very dedicated teacher. I remember how friendly he always was and that he developed a good relationship with his students. I respected his knowledge and the loyalty he had for serving many students from Springfield and Clark County. Rest In Peace, Lou and know that you positively influenced everyone who knew you!

With what little interaction i had with the family as a whole he always seemed to be like the light bulb in the middle of the room that the moths just naturally were attracted to. You just loked being around him. Will miss the stache. Just remember when you are sad that the reason you are sad is because your relationship with him was so good

Mariann and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Though I didn't know him, from the stories you've shared it's clear your dad was a wonderful man. I hope your memories of him and the love he had for his family bring you comfort during this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
